●履修条件あるいは関連する科目等
The course is open to all students, but is recommended for those interested in teaching, school administration, testing or similar professions.
|
●授業内容
This is a seminar in the Socratic tradition. That means the teacher will not simply deliver lessons. Instead students will read and discuss material so that everyone can understand new ideas. The class will be held in English. However, we will not study about the English language. We will use English as a tool for studying. All participants must speak English during class time. By reading authentic English materials, as well as discussing them and writing about them in English, students have an opportunity to improve their English. The main focus of the course is to understand the development of several education theories, mainly from Europe and America, and how they affect teaching and learning.
