●本授業の目的およびねらい
The class is student-driven and instructor facilitated.  Students are           

guided through the process of applying previously mastered grammar and          

vocabulary to topics chosen individually and in groups.  The four               

skill areas of Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing are then                

applied to the topics.  Students will also master the art of                    

formulating a question in an open discussion

●授業内容
We build confidence each week with Hot Topics and Opening Conversations.        

We then work on developing the topics which are chosen by the students.         

Students work both in groups and individually.  Over the course of the          

semester, students develop a topic until it is complete at which point they     

present it to the class and prepare a separate final report on the topic        

which is handed in to the instructor.  Students are guided through both the prep

aration for the presentation and the Outline, Rough Draft and Final Draft proces

●成績評価の方法
Students are evaluated on Attendance and Participation 40%, Hot Topics 5%,      

Group Presentation 10%, Individual Presentation 20%, and Final Report 25%
