| 本授業の目的およびねらい | | 本授業科目は，専門的学習のツールとして外国語の能力を高め，異文化理解を深めて，国際社会に相応しい教養を育むことが目的である。
リスニングとスピーキングを主としたコミュニケーションの能力を高める授業を行い、日常会話、さらにはディスカッションやプレゼンテーションのための基礎力を養成する。 |
| | | 授業の構成 | | | This course focuses on English language communication for an academic context. It is taught entirely in English. Specifically, it focuses on English listening and speaking. In class, students watch and listen to English language media (e.g. television, radio, and internet media) on socially significant issues. Working in pairs and small groups, students will then discuss and debate these issues in English. On approved topics, students will present group presentations, discussions, and debates, using a combination of formal academic and daily conversation language. Non-presenting students will take notes during these activities, and be required to ask questions of the presenting students. Through these activities, students will develop crucial skills for academic conferences. In addition, by presenting on various topics, students will deepen their knowledge and appreciation for various English-speaking cultures. |

| | | 注意事項 | | | 課外学習として「Ａｃａｄｅｍｉｃ Ｅｘｐｒｅｓｓ３」を課し、その消化率に基づく評価を授業全体の評価の２０％とする。また、ＴＯＥＦＬ ＩＴＰ（Ｌｉｓｔｅｎｉｎｇ，Ｓｔｒｕｃｔｕｒｅ）の評価を３０％とする。５回以上欠席をした場合、「欠席」の評価がつく。英語検定試験による単位認定を申請する学生以外は、履修取り下げを認めない。 |
