| 本授業の目的およびねらい | | 本授業科目は，専門的学習のツールとして外国語の能力を高め，異文化理解を深めて，国際社会に相応しい教養を育むことが目的である。
リスニングとスピーキングを主としたコミュニケーションの能力を高める授業を行い、日常会話、さらにはディスカッションやプレゼンテーションのための基礎力を養成する。 |

| 授業の構成 | | | This course will be comprised of two major presentation projects. For both, students will design their own research projects to investigate personally and socially relevant topics. Then, they will report the results in their presentations (about 5-10 minutes each). One of the projects will involve original research by collecting data through interviews, surveys, or both. Students will also learn methods of data analysis (More detailed information will be provided in class). |

| 成績評価の方法と基準 | | | 20% the first presentation; 20% the second presentation; 10% participation, attendance, and homework; 50% items described below in “注意事項.” Students who fail to submit assignments by the deadlines (each due date will be announced every week) for 5 lessons or more will receive a final grade of a “W”「欠席」. Each late submission of required documents or tasks will be considered as one absence. |

| 注意事項 | | | 課外学習としてeラーニング（「ぎゅっとe」）が課される。また、期末にTOEFL-ITPとCriterion試験を受験し、これら3種類に基づく評価注1を授業全体の評価の50％（eラーニング消化率に基づく評価20％、TOEFL-ITP18%、Criterion12%）とする。 |
