| 本授業の目的およびねらい | | 本授業科目は，専門的学習のツールとして外国語の能力を高め，異文化理解を深めて，国際社会に相応しい教養を育むことが目的である。
リスニングとスピーキングを主としたコミュニケーションの能力を高める授業を行い、日常会話、さらにはディスカッションやプレゼンテーションのための基礎力を養成する。 |

| 授業の構成 | | | Focusing on both casual and academic English, this class aims to improve students’ speaking and listening abilities. Students will give two presentations (7 to 10 minutes each) about personally and socially significant topics that they choose. The first presentation will focus on providing information about a topic, while the second presentation will focus on making an argument about a topic. The instructor will also model presentation techniques and provide some focused listening and speaking activities. Student presentations and several additional class sessions will take place in real time through Zoom. The remaining activities and assignments will be completed through the NUCT course page. |

| 注意事項 | | | 課外学習として「Ａｃａｄｅｍｉｃ Ｅｘｐｒｅｓｓ３」を課し、その消化率に基づく評価を授業全体の評価の２０％とする。また、ＴＯＥＦＬ ＩＴＰ（Ｌｉｓｔｅｎｉｎｇ，Ｓｔｒｕｃｔｕｒｅ）の評価を３０％とする。５回以上欠席をした場合、「欠席」の評価がつく。英語検定試験による単位認定を申請する学生以外は、履修取り下げを認めない。 |

This course will help students improve their communicative ability and master basic skills for discussion and presentations.
