●授業内容

We will discuss the basic techniques for delivering a successful presentation. We will read about and discuss designing a presentation with a clear topic, an appropriate structure, logical argumentation, and appropriate support. Participants will deliver presentations in which they put that knowledge into practice. Students will prepare presentations based on their studies or academic goals, respond appropriately to other students' presentations, and engage in discussions. All participants are expected to contribute actively to classroom discussions.

This seminar features some description of the form of presentation. The main focus, however, is on how to select and prepare the content of a presentation.

Topics to be discussed include: Creating a thesis statement; using argument to structure content; using outside sources; avoiding plagiarism; writing and using notes; using visual aids; dealing with questions; poster presentations; group discussions.

It is my goal to allow each participant many chances to give a presentation. The total number of presentations will depend on the number of students enrolled. I expect that each participant will give six presentations. Practice makes perfect!
