●本授業の目的およびねらい
The purpose of the seminar is to give the students the opportunity to increase writing skills in terms of accuracy, fluency, use of idiom etc. It will also include group activities such as brainstorming and collaborative writing.

●授業内容
There will be an initial consultation with students regarding the type of writing and the topics that they feel they need to work upon. The course will then aim to cover a variety of topics, moving from paragraph writing to longer pieces. Types of writing covered may include descriptive writing, narrative writing, letter-writing, setting forward an argument in an essay, writing a feature for magazine or an article for a newspaper, academic writing with referencing and creative writing (short stories, haiku or other poetry in English).

●成績評価の方法
The students will be assessed on a portfolio of writing assignments as well as on their contribution to the class, presentation, and positive contributions on the days on which they are not presenting.
