●本授業の目的およびねらい
学会や社会で求められるプレゼンテーションを行えるよう、リーディング・スピーキング
・リスニング・ライティングの各能力を高め、また４技能の統合を目指すことを目的とす
る。研究拠点大学たる名古屋大学の学生に相応しい学術英語を使いこなす能力を、実際の
運用を前提とした学習活動を通して養う。自分の考えをその根拠とともにいかに説得力あ
る論理的な英文に組み立てるかというこれまで英語（基礎）・（中級）で養った知識・技
能と、英語（コミュニケーション）で培ったコミュニケーション能力に加え、プレゼンテ
ーションに必要な知識や技能を習得し、学術英語を使いこなす能力を更に発展させる。

●授業内容
We are going to use a textbook, Dynamic Presentations: Skills and Strategies for
Public Speaking. As this long title implies, students will work on understanding presentation skills through using English. Each unit provides students with real-life contexts for various authentic purposes. Students are required to use knowledge and skills learned in their prior Academic English classes when they prepare and perform their own presentations throughout this course. In the classroom, students work in pairs or in groups to acquire presentation skills, and they also review and criticize each others work when they are actively engaged in exercises assigned in the textbook.
All the members in the class should try to express themselves in English, although they are not expected to use completely flawless, standardized English.
The students are required to prepare for all the exercises in each unit in the
textbook together with one in the e-learning materials. They are asked to have a
review quiz for each unit both in the textbook and in the e-learning materials
at the beginning of each lesson.

80% of the grade will be based on the class-based activities described above including quiz for the textbook and attendance.

●注意事項
対面授業に加え、課外学習として電子教材を課し、その成績に基づく評価を授業全体の評価の２０％とする。なお、５回以上欠席をした場合、「欠席」の評価がつく。
