●本授業の目的およびねらい
学会や社会で求められるプレゼンテーションを行えるよう、リーディング・スピーキング
・リスニング・ライティングの各能力を高め、また４技能の統合を目指すことを目的とす
る。研究拠点大学たる名古屋大学の学生に相応しい学術英語を使いこなす能力を、実際の
運用を前提とした学習活動を通して養う。自分の考えをその根拠とともにいかに説得力
ある論理的な英文に組み立てるかというこれまで英語（基礎）・（中級）で養った知識・
技能と、英語（コミュニケーション）で培ったコミュニケーション能力に加え、プレゼン
テーションに必要な知識や技能を習得し、学術英語を使いこなす能力を更に発展させる。

●授業内容
We will use various themes to develop our English skills to a higher level
for practical academic and other "real world" situations. For example, we
can examine social issues and look at topics such as work, play, love and
happiness. In order to provide practice in research, planning and presentation,
we may take on a project together such as researching and planning a
sustainable living environment on Mars (Kasei) using research in the various
fields of engineering and science as well as our own ideas and interests.
Below is a schedule of lessons in terms of the academic skills practiced
1. Introduction
2-3. Logical persuasive argument review and practice
4-5. Key points of academic presentations
6. Using PowerPoint and other aids
7-9 Class short presentations
10-11 Further presentation skills, including question time
12-14 Final presentations
15 Review class
* Almost all lessons will contain free discussion, pair/group tasks, and pronunciation practice.
* Short video from TV dramas, film, and documentaries will be used as a basis for discussions.

課外学習(電子教材) (20%)； 出席 (20%)

●注意事項
対面授業に加え、課外学習として電子教材を課し、その成績に基づく評価を授業全体の
評価の２０％とする。なお、５回以上欠席をした場合、「欠席」の評価がつく。
