●本授業の目的およびねらい
The purpose of this class is to foster in students the fundamentals of clear and concise English writing. We will go through various aspects of essay writing such as forming a basic paragraph, plotting your argument or ideas coherently and presenting them in clear, grammatical English, connecting them with appropriate connectors and signposting sentences, and also structuring your ideas logically.

You will learn the following aspects of writing and communication in English:
1) Fundamental rules of grammar for writing
2) Using Topic sentences, organizing data and supporting details
3) Editing and proofreading your writing

You will be assessed through a variety of means, including in-class participation, quizzes, and in-class writing practices.

●注意事項
対面授業に加え、課外学習として、英語（コミュニケーション）用「ぎゅっとｅ」リスニングを課し、その消化率に基づく評価を授業全体の評価の２０％とする。また、ＴＯＥＦＬ－ＩＴＰの成績（Ｌｉｓｔｅｎｉｎｇ、Ｓｔｒｕｃｔｕｒｅ）の評価を３０％とする。なお、５回以上欠席をした場合、「欠席」の評価がつく。
