本授業は、英語という言語、その言語が培ってきた文化、および現代社会における英語文

化についての深い教養を身につけることをその目的とする。英語・英語文化にかかわる様

々な主題についての文献・資料調査、調査に基づく英語による口頭発表など、少人数授業

の利点を生かした学習活動を行い、研究拠点大学である名古屋大学の学生にふさわしい学

We build confidence each week with Hot Topics and Opening Conversations. We     

then work on developing the topics which are chosen by the students.            

Students work both in groups and individually.  Over the course of the          

semester, students develop a topic until it is complete at which point they     

present it to the class and prepare a separate final report on the topic        

which is handed in to the instructor.  Students are guided through both the     

preparation for the presentation and the Outline, Rough Draft and Final

Students are evaluated on Attendance and Participation, 40 % Hot Topics 5 %,    

Group Presentation 10%, Individual Presentation 20 %, and Final Report  25%
