●授業内容
Coursework is topical and designed to be relevant. Students will spend much of
each class in actual conversation with each other and the instructor. Classes
are begun by students discussing research they did on the week's topic in small
groups help them transition to thinking in English as the class begins.
Agendas then follow a regular pattern students quickly become familiar with,
including but not limited to group work, pair tasks, simulation and debate.
Students are in formally tested throughout the semester on mastery of previous-
ly taught content, and are formally tested with a midterm exam and an oral
interview exam at the end of the semester. The midterm and final oral interview
exam will only cover content and skills which have been well covered during the
semester., and students will be instructed and informed of the nature of these
tests in advance. Objectives for each period are modeled by the instructor and
then turned over to the students using a wide range of activities as briefly
outlined above. In addition, students will be guided through self-assessment
throughout the semester, allowing them to build confidence and demystify
English communication skills.
