The course is taught entirely in English. All students are required to speak English to the best of their ability during class, and to read and write English.

We will work on writing academic papers appropriate for university students. This includes writing essays and lab reports. Each student will write two formal academic papers, as well as a weekly journal and other less formal writing in English.

Students will work in groups to give an oral presentation about one of the topics in the textbook. Each group will also plan an activity, such as a discussion or a simulation, to let all of the students in class talk about the presentation topic in English.

Students will also read extensively outside of class and keep a journal of everything they read.
