The purpose of this advanced level presentation class is for students to improve their presentation skills by doing presentations and by evaluating other students' presentations. Students will focus on improving the content of their presentation as well as non-content skills (such as eye content, tone of voice, etc.).

●授業内容
Students will learn strategies for effective presentation through: a) in class lectures: b) readings about presentation strategies; c) doing presentations; and d) receiving student and teacher feedback.
The emphasis will be on learning through doing presentations and evaluating other students' presentations. These presentations will be about subjects from students' academic field. Students may choose presentation topics and materials. (The number of presentations required will be determined by the number of students enrolled.)
Students will be expected to improve both the content and quality of their presentations. We will focus on developing a notes based presentation style rather than simply reading from a script. Moreover, students will be graded on non-content issues: eye contact, tone of voice, organization of presentation content, etc.
There will be a follow up discussion of student presentations. Students will provide feedback. The teacher will give detailed feedback on the presentation.

●成績評価の方法
For this course the grade will be based on the class-based activities: presentations 60%; quality of presentation handouts 15%; quality of feedback given to other students 25%.

●教科書
None. The teacher will give handouts with readings on various presentation skills and strategies. In addition the students are responsible for distributing handouts for their own presentations. Please bring a dictionary.

５回以上授業を欠席した場合は「欠席」とする。履修取り下げ制度を採用しない。
