●授業内容

This course will challenge students to refine the skills they have developed in previous English classes and complete two rigorous and sophisticated research projects. The class will have an active learning environment, with most class time spent on group work, pair work, and class discussion. Lectures and class discussions will be conducted entirely in English, and all students will be expected to participate. The first major assignment is a library research essay. Students will determine a personally and socially significant topic, locate acceptable sources, and construct an argument by critically analyzing the information they contain. They second major assignment is an original research presentation. Students will design and conduct a small-scale research project to investigate a socially significant issue. They will use interviews, surveys, or a combination of both to collect original data. Next, they will analyze their data and give short presentations (5-10 minutes) to describe their findings.
