This course is mainly intended for students in the sciences. Its objective is to develop intermediate English reading and writing skills necessary for studying at Nagoya University. Students will read articles, write one lab report and one essay, discuss ideas in English, and deliver a group presentation. In addition, students will read extensively outside of class and complete a reading journal. We will do simple experiments or demonstrations, talk about them, and then write about them in English.

The course is taught entirely in English. Students read, write, and speak English as much as they can. This is a chance to use English and to improve English abilities naturally.
